Connections Corner is a digital and interactive series with First3Years! These members only events will allow for open discussion and deep engagement on special early childhood topics. Events will be hosted via Zoom and will be limited to 30 participants to allow for effective communication and interaction. We are encouraged that these sessions will create communities of learning with candid questions and sharing of real-life experiences.
Connections Corner is meant to provide a safe space for professionals who impact the lives of young children to come together to expand their wealth of knowledge through the benefits of vicarious learning, a robust discussion, and the exploration of effective tools and strategies that can be integrated into diverse environments.
Connections Corner | Let’s Discuss: Helping Young Children Develop Resilience
Tuesday October 17 | 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM
Join us in this Connections Corner to discuss how early childhood providers with the knowledge and tools necessary to support children’s emotional well-being help in building resilience. We’ll have conversations surrounding stress in young children and explore the ways stress can affect a child’s development, including cognitive, emotional, and social aspects. Additionally, this session will explore ways to provide emotional support to children and families.

Connections Corner | Let’s Talk About Promoting Resilience in Early Childhood Providers
Monday November 20 | 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM
Join us for Connections Corner on provider resilience! This interactive session will be a safe space for early childhood providers to share their experiences with burnout, their self-awareness practices, and self-care techniques. Additionally, time will be spent creating personalized self-care plans to help gain insights into factors that contribute to resilience, including emotional regulation, stress management, and setting boundaries.

Connections Corner | Discussion: Building Resilience in Young Children and Providers
Wednesday December 20 | 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM
Join us in this Connections Corner to explore one of the most fundamental aspects of your work – resilience. This training will delve into what resilience means for both you as providers and, most importantly, for the children you care for through interactive discussions.

Because of our generous Fill The Think Tank donors, the professional development department has scholarship funds set aside to support professionals in attaining a First3Years Membership, attending a conference, and/or covering the Infant Family Associate & Infant Family Specialist Endorsement application fees.
