August 14 | EXTENDED TRAINING | Welch Emotional Connection Screen

Join us to learn about a relational health screening tool developed to measure emotional connection between caregiver and child. As part of this training, you will be invited to participate in a research study focused on parent-child relational health and use of the WECS in your work as a child/family professional. You will be asked to (1) sign a non-disclosure agreement from the Nurture Science Program at Columbia University, (2) view a pre-recorded webinar on the WECS developed by the Nurture Science Program, and (3) view and rate a set of pre-recorded parent-child interactions using the WECS.  These ratings will be collected at the end of the training and compared to predetermined ratings by the Nurture Science team at Columbia University.  Toward the end of the training session, you will also be invited to share your perspective on use of the WECS as a tool for supporting home-based work with children and families, but are not required to do so.  In exchange for your participation, you will be provided with CEUs (7 hours), and a travel mug from First3Years (valued at $10.00), along with a one year free membership to First3Years (valued at $65.00).  Through this membership, you will have free access to information on policy, practice, and research in the field of early childhood mental health.  You will also be able to participate in additional training webinars free of charge to earn CEUs for continuing education training.
